Ocean "Dead Zones" increasing in US
Environmental Protection Agency Reported that " dead zones" in United States  is 30 times more expansive today then it was 50 years ago. The most important reason why it increase so rapidly is human's activity such as pollution, the change of the climate and fertilizer runoff into the waterways.

Example:
It is said that the hypoxic area in northern Gulf of Mexico was 2,500 squre miles on te mid of 1980s,however, according to the report, the size has grown to 12,719squre miles in 2008.

This is only an example of Ocean " Dead Zones" in US. Besides it, there are lots of areas  meeting the challeages. So people must adopt some effecitve solutions to stop this from happening. Long Island Sound is a good example to be preserved by  stricter nitrogen controls. But the most important thing we need to do is to stop human's current practices.
