Biological diversity is the variety of plants, animals and
other living things that reside in a specific region or area such as species
that live in the Pacific Northwest compared to species that live in the
tropical areas of the United States such as Florida.
It affects us human beings in many ways. The climates to which we are accustomed affect the vegetation and animals that inhabit each
area, leading to different fruits and vegetables that can be produced. All types
of vegetation and all creatures have a place in the world and play a fundamental
part in the circle of life. Plant, animal and insect species network and are
dependent on each other for what each offers, such as food,
shelter, oxygen, and soil enrichment.
