What You Wear

What You Wear!!

When we go into a store to go buy clothes we usually look to see what they are made of.  Some of the things that we wear are made of cotton, latex, animal skin (or fake animal skin). What if you found out that your clothing were made out of things that you threw out in the trash? Most of the clothing that we have on our backs is made from people all over the world in sweat shops. Most of us are fighting to have this abuse stopped or have it being made in the US. Either way you look at it,  you can see people creating more trash and more pollution So what can we do about this?

There are a couple of things you can do, one will save you money and make the world more green friendly. One of the things I have learned when I was a kid was I used to watch shows on PBS and they would show us how to create things from something simple. One of the things that they showed us was how to make clothing from trash. Now if you ever paid attention to those love tabloid shows you would have seen teens making prom dresses out of trash bags or candy wrappers or duct tape. Now if they can get creative, so can we. How are we going to do that?

First let's look at what we have in our room because there are some things in there that you think you should throw out, but at the same time you don't really need to because that thing can help create an outfit for yourself. Then you can go on Youtube and look up what you have on hand or go on Yahoo and look at what you can make and how you can make it. Then you can start making it. And that will save you about $20-50, but also help make the world a more green place.

Down below are a couple of  Youtube videos of people making fashion out of things you can find in the trash. So now I am asking you to go out there and create your own outfit and post it on this website so that we can see what you make and put a caption to it.
