Housing Projects

There are homeless housing projects that take place in Portland, Oregon. Housing pods were
built for the homeless community that people can apply for. Funded by the Catholic Charities of
Oregon and created by CPID or Center for Public Interest and Design alongside other architectural
firms and even students at Portland State University architectural program. With their combined
efforts they were able to create small housing for homeless women. The aim of the project was to help
women off the streets and into a more permanent residential housing. The success of the project lead
to the creation of a second housing project that was aimed at helping veterans off the streets and into a
more permanent housing as well.
