What is upcycling?
It is the
process of converting old or discarded materials into something useful and
often beautiful.
Upcycling is
not a new concept. Our parents, grandparent’s upcycled out of necessity
when materials were short and the economy was bad. They reused almost
everything, built items from whatever they had, repurposed item over and over
until it no longer was useful. Today thrift is still a trend and the big
reason people upcycle. Others enjoy the artistic aesthetic. I would
like to share with you a video on the artistic interests in upcycling. Thank you to HIKERGUY57 for his video.
You can get started today by making something
beautiful and useful at the same time make a positive impact on the
environment. Upcycling is Green. When you upcycle you remove those
item from the overall global garbage. With some imagination, creativity,
and a little work you can upcycle anything from tires to milk cartons.
