Seniors enjoying a conversation as a group |
When it comes to getting older, life changes in many different stages and throughout all those stages we require that we have people by our side whether it is for support, help, encouragement, just knowing that someone is there to share the moment with use these are all important aspects of what we need. The problem that starts to happen as we get older is slowly we start not being able to keep up with younger groups and the age group we can keep up with slowly starts to disappear the older we get. Now as a senior citizen interacts with others is very important on a post I read on https://www.caringseniorservice.com/blog/ways-to-help-seniors-avoid-isolation
it explaines how being able to be social helps us be able to maintain our selves mentally alert and try to prevent diseases like Alzheimers and dementia. Being able to be social is being able to encourage mental, emotional, and physical health. Some of the point that they talked about I would also like to mention and share so, we can help seniors live their best lives.

The idea of being social comes from our need to be able to share emotional and physical moments with those we care about, starting at birth with the need for our parents, to as we get older the need to have someone with users to share moments with, in every stage of life we also want someone by our side. Now for seniors, it is even more important because their bodies and mind are more fragile. By having opportunities to be social the have the ability to go out with others that are in the same stage and do activities that will help them with their bodies and socialize verbally which will help them with their minds. It also helps them fight depression, medical problems, and the losses that happen as we get older really take a toll on our well being and the way we see ourselves. About 13% of seniors who don’t get to socialize and enjoy of companionship are depressed and even though that might not seem like a huge number it is concerning to even see it that high because of how fragile senior health is. There are many ways we can help make sure that they get to socialize and with technology and many other ways to interact we can do more to make sure that seniors are able to enjoy life to the fullest and socialize in order to have a healthier and happier life.
