Banning microbeads abroad

With the United States making progress in the fight against microbeads, how are our neighbors abroad doing to ban the microbead?

New South Wales in Australia is leading the ban with collaborations from big name cosmetic companies. They hope to gain recognition nationally, and with additional cosmetic companies to come to a complete halt on the microbead.

In Europe, a handful of nations are leading the charge on banning the microbead. So far, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, and Sweden have petitioned the EU to stop the sale and production of products containing the plastic.

Canada has also submitted a petition to ban all products containing microbeads.

The order is currently under review.
